Ostara (Vernal Equinox) 2023

Saturday, March 18th, 2023 (25th rain date)

As always, our events are family-friendly. We do have a dog who is perfectly fine with adults and children but does not like other dogs.

You can check on the latest conversation if you have not received any emails on the Google Group at https://groups.google.com/g/hestiahearthfire

~~ Address ~~

Location will be sent out to approved members of the private group. To join the private group, please go to the Membership page and fill out the form. It may take a few days or weeks for us to add you, but we will be vigilant as the next celebration approaches. You should get an email inviting you to the private group if your application is accepted.

~~ Parking ~~

Park anywhere on our yard, it's all just weeds. There is some room around the back of the house as well, just use the gravel driveway on the left side. Please just don't block anyone in. Also, important note - the fire pit is at the very back of the property. Even if the fire is going, you often can't see it from the road. So don't be shy, come all the way back! There's not likely to be anyone inside to let you in. If anyone has any accessibility needs just let us know ahead of time and I'll make sure a path is cleared so you can park right at the back where the party is.

~~ Safety ~~

We're not requiring masks anywhere. We also keep a huge jug of water near the fire for emergencies. For the children, the primary rule is "what goes in the fire, stays in the fire."

~~ What to bring ~~

We always do a potluck format, which works out well! Bringing stuff is totally optional but always helpful and appreciated

Camp chair(s)

A warm dish for sharing

Drinks and libations for sharing

~~ Day Of ~~

Show up any time around dusk, and we'll get the fire going as people arrive. If you'd like to show up earlier for any invocations or rituals and some privacy, please feel free to do so, just let us know! I have an acre of land, so the kids are free to run around and play with the dog, though he is getting old so I ask that we don't allow the kids to chase him all night. Also, our dog is freaked out by flashlights so we need to limit the use of flashlights if at all possible.
